Antoine Griezmann looks like he’s finally about to move to Barcelona.
The Atlético Madrid striker has been heavily linked with a switch to Camp Nou all summer and it was thought that the World Cup winner would move on July 1 when his release clause decreased to €120m.
However there has been some disagreement between both teams as to how that money would be paid.
Atleti want it all now. Barça want to pay in instalments.
It looks though, as if Atleti have got their way with L’Equipe revealing that Barcelona have transferred all €120m to Atleti on Thursday evening.
They say that the funds will be in Atleti’s account on Friday, when the transfer will be made official.
There’s some slightly different information coming out of Spain though, with both Marca and Sport saying that Barcelona will deposit the release clause on Friday morning – with the deal then becoming official over the weekend.
Either way, it looks like this deal is finally about to get done.
