James moves to United in a deal reportedly worth an initial £15m rising to £22m if certain bonuses are triggered.

The Wales international is set to become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first signing as Red Devils boss and the beginning of what the Norwegian hopes will be a big summer overhaul.

James came through the academy at Swansea and has since made 39 senior appearances for the club, scoring six goals and assisting 10 others.

He has been capped twice at senior level by the Welsh national team and could feature when Ryan Giggs’s side take on Croatia in a Euro 2020 qualifier on Saturday.
