Jürgen Klopp has been named the Premier League’s manager of the month after Liverpool won all seven of their games in December.
And to add to the celebration at Anfield, Reds’ defender Virgil van Dijk has also been named player of the month.
Klopp claimed the manager’s award for the second time in his career after his side opened up a healthy gap at the top of the league, scoring 22 goals and conceding just three.
“It’s nice, the icing on the cake,” the German told the Premier League’s official website.
“It was a very successful but difficult month.
“Each game felt like the most important one of the season. It was unbelievable. The intensity was massive but that’s what made it a special month.”
The 51-year-old pipped Nuno Espirito Santo, Manuel Pellegrini, Mauricio Pochettino and Maurizio Sarri to the award.
Dutch defender Van Dijk, meanwhile, has been named Premier League Player of the Month for the first time ever.
It’s unlikely to be the last.
