When youâve got the greatest player of all-time leading your attack, is winning LaLiga every year really enough?
Thatâs the question that the board at Camp Nou have been pondering over the summer and decided that the answer is an emphatic ânoâ.
So like all superclubs in 2019, theyâve decided to throw money at the problem. And lots of it.
Obviously the signing of Antoine Griezmann is the big headline move but donât forget Frenkie de Jong. The Dutch international agreed his move in January and should reinvigorate what was an ageing midfield.
Junior Firpo is also a smart move and will provide Jordi Alba with competition at left-back.
A number of fringe players have left on permanent deals after various loans.
And then thereâs the Neymar deal. As we get closer to the end of the window, the possibility of a return looks increasingly likely.
Once is an accident, twice is just careless. Three times though? That would be just unthinkable.
Can Barcelona get over their mental fragility and make it to their first Champions League final in five years? It would be a total waste of Lionel Messiâs talents if they didnât.
Obviously, thereâs only one correct answer here.
But it is also going to be fascinating to see how Frenkie de Jong adapts to life in LaLiga after his big-money move from Ajax this summer.
La Masia isnât producing the same level of world class stars as it used to by one star who could force his way into the first team is Carles Aleñå.
The central midfielder may struggle to usurp De Jong and Busquets for a starting place, but he could prove a useful addition throughout the campaign.

Messi. Suårez. Dembélé. Griezmann. How can you not be excited by that?
How itâll work and whether thereâs too much of a good thing there remains to be seen.
But for now, think of the possibilities.
Last seasonâs capitulation should be at the forefront of everyoneâs minds at Camp Nou.
How could that happen again? And what does it mean going forward for the Blaugrana?
