Jacob Murphy’s West Brom side failed in their bid to return to the Premier League, falling in penalties against Aston Villa in the promotion semi-finals on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old winger spent the second half of the season on loan from Newcastle with the Baggies and managed to score just two goals in 15 appearances.
His Newcastle career has been a giant disappointment as the £12m man has scored just once and contributed three assists in 41 games with the club.
On Tuesday, Murphy wished West Brom ‘all the very best in the future’ on Instagram, all but revealing that he will be leaving the club and returning to Newcastle.
