In the second edition of the tournament, MLS has snatched the title back from Liga MX.
Atlanta United defeated Club América 3-2 in an intense match to claim the Campeones Cup.
América were noticeably shorthanded without many of their better players, including Giovani dos Santos, who missed out due to injury.
The MLS champions went ahead just five minutes into the match through Emerson Hyndman after a fantastic bit of team play.

América bounced back just eight minutes later as Roger Martinez got behind the Atlanta defense and found a wide open Renato Ibarra to level the match.
Atlanta had a spectacular chance to regain the lead before half-time but Óscar Jiménez came up big to deny Josef Martínez from 12 yards.
Roger Martinez would just barely put América in front in the 57th minute, toeing the ball just over the line on his own rebound.
It only took two minutes for Atlanta to tie the score at two as Jeff Larentowicz’s ambitious effort from outside the box took a heavy deflection before nestling in the back of the net.
Guido Rodriguez would end up playing the role of goat as his foul inside the area allowed Josef Martínez another chance from the spot, where he made no mistake.
Seven minutes later, Bruno Valdez picked up his second yellow card to put América down to 10 men. Atlanta would dominate the rest of the match to finish the job and claim the second-annual title.
