Christmas is approaching and you know what that means.

Premier League fixtures squeezed into midweek!

Here’s what to look out for over the next few days.

Game of the round

Liverpool v Everton

It’s Merseyside derby time and Everton are once again heading to Anfield in the midst of crisis.

Marco Silva looks inches away from losing his job and the dramatic last second defeat at Leicester will not have helped his cause.

Liverpool, on the other hand, keep grinding out wins.

Alisson red card? No problem. Fabinho out for six weeks? Easy. The three point machine keeps rolling on.

Keep an eye on

Manchester United v Tottenham

José back at Old Trafford. What a time to be alive.

Tottenham are two from two in the Premier League under Mourinho, and head to Old Trafford with a renewed sense of optimism after their difficult start to the season.

Dele Alli looks a different player, Heung-min Son has been typically excellent and even Moussa Sissoko is scoring.

United, on the other hand, look shaky. Pressure continues to mount on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after picking up just nine points from a possible 18 since their draw against Liverpool.

Marcus Rashford continues to score goals and Spurs have looked defensively suspect on occasion but we’re expecting Mourinho to take centre stage.

Potential upset

Burnley v Manchester City

We’re not sure why but Manchester City don’t have that air of indestructibility around them this season.

Defensively they’re far too open, losing Agüero has blunted their attack and Liverpool are already streaking 11 points clear.

Something isn’t quite right and Burnley will be sensing that.

Turf Moor doesn’t see many defeats and under the lights, in the freezing cold, Ashley Barnes will be fancying himself against that makeshift back four.

Easiest three points

Chelsea v Aston Villa

We don’t actually think this is an easy three points but maybe the easiest three points of the round – on paper.

Despite their weekend defeat against West Ham, Chelsea actually played well and missed a flurry of first half opportunities.

They’ll be determined to put things right against Aston Villa who could be tired after their well-earned point at Old Trafford.

Grealish has been sensational of late but this could be one big away trip too many.
