Xabi Alonso has told Robert Lewandowski to snub interest from Real Madrid and stay at Bayern Munich this summer.

Alonso joined Bayern from Madrid in 2014 and spent three successful seasons with the Bundesliga giants before hanging up his boots last summer.

Lewandowski is under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2021 but continues to be strongly linked with a move to Los Blancos despite recently rubbishing the rumours surrounding him.

“I’m not interested in these rumours,” the Pole told Bayern’s official website last month.

“I don’t want to speak about them anymore, because it’s just the same every year.”

And according to his former team-mate Alonso, the striker would be better off staying where he is.

“He is definitely one of the best nines in the world. But I am of the opinion that he is in the best hands with Bayern,” the Spaniard told Sportbuzzer.

“He makes his goals every year, he knows the club, the league, he wins titles.

“Whether he wants to do another experience, he has to decide for himself.”
