Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain tipped Trent Alexander-Arnold to reach the top following his displays against Manchester City in the Champions League.

The 19-year-old earned plaudits for his performances during both legs as he helped subdue Leroy Sané in the Reds’ 5-1 aggregate win over the newly-crowned Premier League champions.

And Oxlade-Chamberlain, who himself excelled against Pep Guardiola’s side, was full of praise for his team-mate.

“To make mistakes at this level, you can come in for criticism and scrutiny, but he’s learnt from it and got on with his business,” he told Liverpool’s official website.

“He’s never scared to get on the ball and produce great things going forward and defensively he’s been outstanding.

“Over the two legs [against] Manchester City, it’s the best performance I’ve seen from anyone over two legs in such a big game.

“The sky’s his limit, he can go as far as he wants to in this game, he really can.”
