Tottenham are looking to strengthen their midfield with Boca Juniors star Wilmar Barrios.
The Colombian international has been playing with the Xeneizes since 2016, and has won back-to-back Super Liga championships.
According to The Sun, the midfielder enforcer is of the likes of Tottenham’s boss, Mauricio Pochettino and the Spurs are willing to pay up to €28 millions to get him out of Boca.
Pochettino plans for Barrios to aid Davinson Sánchez, the 21-year old countryman of Wilmar, in controlling the midfield.
Barrios has sparked some controversy in Argentina in the last few days, after being accused of not playing a game with Boca because he was saving himself for the World Cup.
Carlos Tévez, his team-mate at the Argentinian giants, came out in his defense.
“I trust Wilmar because he always gave his all in the pitch. He said he wasn’t 100% and gave the chance for a team-mate to play, that’ something valuable,” Tévez, told Sportia show of TyC Sports.
