Tottenham are set to offer Mousa Dembélé a new deal after his dazzling displays for the north London club this season.

The Belgium international has been one of Spurs’ standout performers this term, being an ever-present in the midfield on their way to an FA Cup semi-final and Champions League last 16 place.

Rumours have circulated in recent weeks that some of the elite clubs in Europe could make a move for the 30-year-old, however Tottenham want to preempt those by offering the former Fulham man a bumper new contract.

Dembélé’s current deal will run out in May 2019, but The Sun are reporting that representatives of Spurs have sat down with the player’s agent to talk money.

The tabloid believes that the midfielder will sign in the coming weeks, with his pay being increased to just over £100,000 per week, plus substantial bonuses.

It’s unclear however, how long the new contract would run for.
