If the new White Hart Lane is not available in time, Tottenham would opt to use Wembley Stadium for a number of Champions League group stage matches.

Despite the need for permission from the FA to host matches in two separate stadiums, UEFA has no such rules in place for European competition.

Spurs have already held talks with the European governing body to discuss the possibility of playing any number of their group stage fixtures at Wembley before transitioning to their new 61,500-seat stadium if they were to advance to the knockout rounds.

Tottenham are open to starting their first four Premier League ties away but no such luxury will be afforded to the London outfit by UEFA, as they do not allow teams to reverse fixtures with their opponents or guarantee an away start to the competition. The first round of Champions League group stage fixtures take place on the 18th and 19th of September.

In the 2016-17 season, Tottenham were forced to play their Champions League matches at Wembley after the removal of 4,000 seats in the north-east corner made White Hart Lane in breach of UEFA regulations.
