Tomás Boy has seen his Chivas commitment come to an end but has requested to have a chance to lead the club for the upcoming season.

Since taking over on 10 April, Boy has led the struggling club to one win and three losses over four games.

However, even if he had won all four matches, Chivas still would have fallen short of a Liguilla place.

In an interview with ESPN, Boy expressed his desire to maintain the reins.

“At this moment, I have seen personal progress even just having been with the club for four games.

“I cannot determine (what we have to do) now, although I have some ideas. If you ask me if I want the job, I’ll gladly accept it.

“They (Chivas) are already working on the future and the possibilities of the club.

“I have been very clear, so they will let me know. We are in talks and while I’m still here, I’ll do my bit.”

Chivas will get some valuable experience in the International Champions Cup this summer, where they will face Roma, Benfica, and Atlético Madrid on 16, 20, and 23 July, respectively.
