José Cardozo, Alberto Coyote, and Tomás Boy have something in common: they could not keep Chivas out next year’s relegation zone.
The crisis worsened with this weekend’s 1-0 defeat against Monarcas.
‘El Jefe’ went to Morelia with a mission to take all three points and get Chivas back in the running for a Liguilla place, they failed to avoid defeat and with Querétaro’s draw against Toluca, their situation became much more dire.
At this moment in time, Chivas are level with Querétaro in next year’s relegation table, having taken 68 points from their last 65 games over the last two seasons (1.0462), with only the goal difference saving Chivas from the drop.
With Puebla, Leon, and Tigres left to play this season, Chivas aren’t in a good position to add any more points before the end of the campaign.
It appears that their stay in the top-flight will depend on their results in the 2019 Apertura and the 2020 Clausura. Let the games begin!
