On Tuesday, Mexico U-23 manager Jaime Lozano named his 20-man squad for the 2020 CONCACAF Pre-Olympic Tournament in search of qualifying for their third-straight Olympic Games.

An incredible six Chivas players were named to the team, including defender Gilberto Sepúlveda, midfielders Fernando Beltrán and Jesús Angulo, as well as forwards Alexis Vega, Uriel Antuna, and José Juan Macías.

The Pre-Olympic Tournament will be hosted in Guadalajara and Zapopan, both cities in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, between 20 March and 1 April 2020.

The players will be called into training camp on 15 March, meaning they would only be scheduled to miss the match against Querétaro on 22 March – a game that sporting director Ricardo Peláez has admitted he will attempt to have rescheduled.

Mexico famously won gold at the 2012 Olympics in London – the only time Mexico ever won a knockout match. They were eliminated in the group stage in 2016 after drawing Germany, beating Fiji, and losing to South Korea.
