Neymar’s world record transfer to Paris Saint-Germain has so far been an unmitigated success on the pitch but it would seem all is not well behind the scenes.

Following various reports of disagreements between the Brazilian superstar and PSG boss Unai Emery in recent weeks, French outlet L’Equipe today claim the tension between the two parties continues to grow and grow.

Neymar fell out with team-mate Edinson Cavani earlier in the season over set-piece responsibilities, while he was also involved in a minor training ground altercation with Emery last month.

Despite all that, the world’s most expensive footballer has netted an impressive 11 goals so far this season, something L’Equipe says has successfully managed to mask the Ligue 1 club’s troubles off the pitch.

The mask, however, appears to be slipping.

“His body language is clear,” read’s L’Equipe’s report.

“Sometimes with a wave of his hand, or with a very dark look, he makes it clear to the coach that he does not want to listen, and that he should be left alone”.

Emery was recently forced to deny speculation Neymar regrets his move to Les Parisiens and L’Equipe claim part of the problem is that the former Valencia and Sevilla coach has never before had to handle a squad with so many huge egos.

“Unbeaten in all competitions, the capital club rides the wave of happiness triggered by the arrivals of Neymar and [Kylian] Mbappé,” they say.

“In psychological terms, however, the Parisian dressing room is not necessarily defined by immense serenity.”

To make matters worse, Catalan outlet SPORT claim Neymar is only interested in playing in the Champions League and has been “surprised by the low quality of the rivals and the low attendances in the stadiums” in Ligue 1.

The former Barcelona star sat out Saturday’s 5-0 win over Angers with a slight knock but there have been suggestions he instead wanted to rest up ahead of international duty with Brazil, who face Japan and England in friendlies in the coming days.

Oh dear.
