Paris Saint-Germain have withdrawn their interest in Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo, according to the latest reports.

A rumour had emerged towards the end of last week, that the Ligue 1 side were considering making a €35m bid for the Argentina international.

However, ESPN on Wednesday have insisted that is not the case, as the Parc des Princes outfit are happy with the centre backs they currently have on their books.

There was a sense at the start of the season that perhaps they would need bolstering at the back, but with Presnel Kimpembe coming through that is no longer the case.

ESPN believe that Unai Emery’s side have actually ear-marked a defensive midfielder as their main point of transfer business come the summer.

With Thiago Motta feeling every day of his 35 years, and Lassana Diarra coming in on a short term deal, PSG want to spend big for the next campaign and bring in a truly world class deep-lying midfielder.
