This isn’t exactly what we think would something you’d want to say just days after defeating Real Madrid, but Paco Jémez can do what he wants, apparently.

The Rayo Vallecano boss, who formerly led Cruz Azul, admitted on Monday that he would love to manage Mexican giants Chivas, who are currently struggling and will fight against relegation next season.

“For me, it gives me pride that my name is linked to a big team like Chivas. I wish it could happen, but my future is with Rayo,” he said in an interview with Marca Claro.

Jémez re-joined Rayo last month after taking over for Míchel, who had lost seven straight games.

The former Spain international centre-back is under contract until next summer, but would be allowed to leave if Rayo are relegated, which is likely as they are in 19th place with three games to play, six points from safety.
