Late Monday night, 35-year-old Oribe Peralta headed from Súper Clásico rival to another as he put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with Chivas after spending five years with América.

Everything started with Salvador Mota, who migrated from Guadalajara to Mexico City in 1944. However, the next move wouldn’t come for another 25 years, with Enrique Vázquez del Mercado also joining the Azulcrema from Chivas.

Later would come three consecutive years with some buying and selling between both: Francisco Macedo (to América in 1973), Albino Morales (to América in 1974) and Javier Sánchez Galindo (to Chivas in 1975).

There would be one final transfer between the rivals in the 70s, with Rubén Cárdenas heading to the Azteca in 1978.

The two sides would wait 13 years before exchanging players again, as Luis Manuel Díaz moved from Chivas in 1991. Pedro Pineda and Gerardo Silva would each make the same move in the following years.

Between 1998 and 2000, a total of six moves were made between the two sides. Ricardo Peláez (to Chivas in 1998), Ramón Ramírez, Joel Sánchez (both to América in 1999), Oswaldo Sánchez and Ignacio Hierro (both to Chivas 1999). Jesus Mendoza would arrive at América in 2000.

In the current decade, Alberto García Carpizo moved to América in 2015, though he did not play for the club.
