América won their final two matches of the season to secure the fifth seed in the Liguilla and will take on Clásico Joven rivals Cruz Azul in the quarter-finals.
The Eagles are the defending champions and won the Copa MX, which is why Nico Castillo is confident that they are the favorites to win it all again.

“Obviously (we are the favorites),” he told Record. “Obviously we are and that everyone knows that.
“We are the current champions, we have to go step by step and see who we play and improve what we are not doing well.
“America is always going to be the favorite and we have to demonstrate it on the field.”
The winner of América and Cruz Azul will face the winner of León and Xolos in the semi-finals.
