A clever scoop-pass from Carlos Rodríguez, in order to evade the lunging tackle of Pachuca’s Jorge Daniel Hernández, was bested by the chipped finish from Hurtado to beat Alfonso Blanco.

Mexico international midfielder Jonathan González doubled the lead just after the intermission on Rodríguez’s second assist. González scored in the 51st minute with the technical prowess of an experienced goal-scorer.

Rogelio Funes Mori scored the first of his brace against Pachuca in the 58th minute.

The Argentine forward grabbed his second tally of the night in the 74th minute on a great assist from Colombian attacker Dorlan Pabón.

Mexican forward Ángel Zaldívar, on loan from Chivas, replaced Pabón in the 78th minute and got on the score-sheet in the 84th minute.

Monterrey opened their Clausura 2019 campaign in roaring style with a 5-0 win over Pachuca.

The high scoring output at the BBVA Bancomer Stadium sets the Rayados up nicely to top the Liga MX table after matchday 1.
