After Chivas striker Alan Pulido said that Wednesday’s Copa MX Super Clásico quarter-final at the Estadio Azteca will feel like ‘playing in their second home’, América goalkeeper Agustín Marchesín defended his team’s honor.

Marchesín pulled no punches when referring to the enemy.

“I do not know what he means or what he means by that (Chivas is local at the Azteca) but we will ignore them and focus on our game.

“We do not care what the Chivas players say. They say nonsense and they can say what they want because we just focus on winning.”

With both teams separated by just one point in the Liga MX standings and both uncertain of a place in the Liguilla, Sunday’s match at the Estadio Akron is sure to be similarly intense.
