After winning his first match in charge of Chivas, Luis Fernando Tena has his sights set on Liguilla qualification.

With seven games to play in the 2019 Apertura regular season, Chivas are currently third-bottom on just 11 points – six points short of progressing to the next round.

“We are going to fight to qualify [for the Liguilla]. We are aware that we are lagging far behind, but the possibility exists and the quality of the team is high.

“The Clásico Nacional hurt us a lot and we apologise to our fans. Yesterday helped us get over it a little, but obviously we have to stake our claim in the league.”

Chivas have an all-important battle with eighth-placed Pumas this Saturday, with Rayados coming up after the October international break.
