José Juan Macías made his return to Chivas official on Monday and did so in style by scoring a brace in their 3-1 victory over Tampico Madero.
Monday’s friendly marked the second of five pre-season games ahead of the 2020 Liga MX Clausura tournament.
After beating Venados de Yucatán 1-0 on Friday in Mérida, Chivas suffered at the beginning, allowing Kevin Lara to score in the first of the four 30-minute periods.
Oribe Peralta would level the score just before the end of the second period, scoring from the spot in the 53rd minute.
Macías would enter the match for the start of the third stanza and only needed 11 minutes to put Chivas ahead, before confidently scoring an excellent goal in the 107th minute to give his side their second victory in four days.
Chivas will begin regular-season play on 11 January when they host FC Juárez.
