Upon the arrival of Chivas boss José Saturnino, 19-year-old José Juan Macías saw his minutes reduced and that his personal situation was unsustainable.
It turns out that it was thanks to his habit of questioning authority that his relationship with the rojiblancos ended up deteriorating.
Macías has had the last laugh so far, scoring three goals in four Liga MX matches this season on loan with Club León, including the opening goal in his side’s stunning 3-0 away victory against Club América over the weekend.
“Normally they’re used to telling footballers what to do and I’m not one of those people.
“I ask, I ask and I ask. They do not like that,” explained the 19-year-old.
“I’m young, I was wrong in several things I talked about. I do not want to go into detail because I’m not at Chivas anymore.
“I learned a lot about diplomacy, knowing what to say, and knowing when to keep quiet.”
