In an interview for ESPN, Jonathan dos Santos reiterated his love for Club América and his intention to share the pitch with his older brother, Giovani, and thus fulfil the desire that both players have had since childhood.
The duo have played together at Barcelona, Villarreal, and Los Angeles Galaxy, where Jonathan remains despite Giovani having left to live out his América dream.
“I always liked being able to play with my brother on every team I have went, I have always looked up to him, but I am currently happy with the Galaxy.
“I have two years left on my contract and I would like to stay longer. They make me feel important.
“But never say never, anything can happen, and América is the club of my dreams.”
Jonathan has been an active member of El Tri and scored the only goal in Mexico’s Gold Cup final win over the United States.
Meanwhile, Giovani has not featured since making a single substitute appearance at last year’s World Cup.
