Chivas captain Jesús Molina has already featured for four of the other giants in Mexican football (Tigres, América, Santos Laguna, and Rayados) but defended his ability to have love for the Chivas shirt.

However, he has defended his and other players’ motives to leave clubs in search of more money and more playing time should it become available to them.

“Few players last a lifetime at a single club and normally the ones that last are because they grow up through the youth squads.

“They were born there and they are given that opportunity. They know that on the economic issue they are not going to have a problem with them.

“The love of the shirt, I think it continues to exist, but without putting it first, that it is a profession, that it is a job and that you will not stop playing.

“I can have love for the shirt, but if that team does not have ‘love’ for Jesús Molina, I cannot stay with my arms crossed or at home lying down and wait for any other team to give me money.

“Believe me, I’ve tried to be as professional as possible on all the teams I’ve been on.”

Molina’s current contract is set to expire at the end of June and his status is up in the air.
