Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has stressed how important the club’s warm weather training camp in Barcelona has been this week.

The north London side flew to the High Performance Centre in Catalonia after their win over Everton last weekend, and trained in the sun on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Spurs then travelled back to London on Thursday morning to prepare at home for their clash at Southampton on Sunday.

And the French shot-stopper has insisted it was vital for the camaraderie amongst the squad.

“Like the last few years, it was a good experience for the togetherness in the group,” he told the club’s website.

“To see different things, to do different things together is so important. At the same time you stay together and that’s good too.

“It’s an opportunity to know the new players better who arrived last summer because you share 24 hours with them. Like the last few seasons it’s a very good experience and now we start again to work.”

“I think it was a good time to switch off because we are lucky that the next game is on Sunday.

“At the same time we did some good work and that’s important. Now we will be back to our routine and we will prepare for the next game as well as possible like we normally do.”
