Bundesliga strugglers Hamburg have confirmed that chairman Heribert Bruchhagen and sporting director Jens Todt has left the club.

Der Dino are currently languishing in 17th in the Bundesliga and have failed to win any games since the end of November.

As such, the Volksparkstadion side have revealed that changes have been made at a boardroom level in the hope of effecting change on the pitch.

President Bernd Hoffman said in a statement: “After a detailed analysis of the overall situation, we decided to take this step and are now dedicating ourselves to making a change.

“Heribert Bruchhagen has always been protective of our club. He was, and is, very keen that HSV overcomes this current malaise.”

Hamburg are the only club to have spent every season in the Bundesliga since its foundation in 1963.
