Fernando Beltrán has become one of the better stories to come out of the Chivas camp in quite some time.
Since graduating from the Chivas academy and making his debut in 2017, the 21-year-old has become an everyday starter under Luis Fernando Tena and is undoubtedly one of the leaders for the younger generation going forward.
On Thursday, the diminutive midfielder revealed that, in fact, he seriously considered leaving Chivas during the 2019 Clausura after Tomás Boy took over.
Boy assumed charge in April 2019 and did not start Beltrán a single time in the league. Beltrán would end up starting the final three matches of the season and hasn’t relinquished his spot since.
“The truth is that when he arrived (Tomás Boy) I approached the board and asked to leave,” he told the Líderes del Rebaño program.
“I wanted to play first and had several options to do so. I don’t claim anything from him (Boy), but the truth is that he never trusted me.”
Of course, Chivas will travel to face their rivals Atlas on Saturday.
