Erick Gutiérrez has been linked with a return to Liga MX just one year after his €6m move from Pachuca.

The 15-time Mexican international midfielder performed well for PSV, scoring three goals and contributed four assists in 16 Eredivisie matches, but was limited to just 638 minutes this season.

In an interview with ESPN, he was asked if he would move to Chivas. However, it appears his heart remains with his boyhood club.

“Chivas is a great club, all Mexicans want to play there, it’s very nice,” the 23-year-old responded.

“But if I go back to Mexico I would want to play for Pachuca, not at another club.

“You never know, but that’s my idea right now.”

When asked if he planned to leave PSV, he hinted that he has no intention on leaving Europe.

“It’s difficult, I’ve just come here and I want to succeed. I want to perform well and I can not go out like this.

“If I left, it would be very fast. I’m at a good age, not very old, but right now it’s too early for that. “
