In an interview with the local media, Eduardo López confirmed he was close to leaving Chivas at the end of the Liga MX Clasura.
However, according to López, manager Tomás Boy was the key in keeping the number 10 at Guadalajara.
“Tomás told me not to leave,” said the 24-year-old. “The truth is that several teams wanted to take me and I do not lie, I also wanted to try other things.”
Due to a knee injury, López only played in seven Liga MX Clausura matches last season for El Chiverio.
However, the CONCACAF Champions League winner has decided to remain at the club he’s been at since 2013 and is looking forward to a strong Lida MX Apertura next season.
