Ricardo Peláez is getting a head start on the job at Chivas by considering Diego Alonso as the next manager for the club.

Peláez is not due to assume the role of Sporting Director until January 2020, but he is not wasting any time in his planning to ring the changes.

Alonso is in the running to take over from Luis Fernando Tena, according to TV Azteca.

The 44-year-old former Uruguayan international was fired by Monterrey in September, only months after leading them to success in the CONCACAF Champions League.

Peláez is also looking at on-field changes, with TUDN reporting that goalkeeper Hugo González is a target.

However, it won’t be easy to acquire the twice-capped Mexico international.

González is currently on loan at Nexaca, and Monterrey manager Antonio Mohamed is said to be keen on bringing the stopper back to the Rayados.
