Chelsea look set to welcome back David Luiz to their first team squad this week, just in time for next weekend’s crunch clash with Tottenham.
The Brazil international has been something of a peripheral figure at Stamford Bridge this season, playing just 17 games for the Blues thanks to injuries and a loss of form.
The 30-year-old has been on the sidelines since the start of February due to a succession of ankle and then knee injuries.
But, according to the London Evening Standard, Antonio Conte looks set to recall the centre-back to the squad after he passed a fitness test.
That’s good news for the Italian tactician considering the doubts over Andreas Christensen.
The Dane was sent home from international duty earlier this week due to “muscle fatigue” and is a doubt for the match against Spurs at Stamford Bridge next Saturday.
