Corinthians left-back Danilo Avelar turned down a tempting offer from Saudi Arabia to remain in São Paulo.
According to UOL Sport, Saudi side Al-Ahli offered R$600,000 (€135,000) per month for the talented 30-year-old.
Avelar currently earns roughly half that and opted to join from Torino on a three-year deal in July after an extremely successful year-long loan spell.
“I find myself playing very well at Corinthians, I managed to transform many things,” Avelar said in an interview with ESPN.
“I feel totally confident and every day I earn more respect. I know my ability and how much I can still evolve. So my goal has always been to stay at Corinthians, I want to stay here.”
Corinthians will take on fellow Brazilians Fluminense on Thursday in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana quarter-finals.
