Corinthians do not have Léo Santos offers from Europe | OneFootball

In recent days, there have been reports circulating around Europe that claimed both Sevilla and AC Milan were interested in bringing in Corinthians defender Léo Santos in the January window.

However, Brazilian outlet Gazeta Esportiva found that neither the São Paulo club nor the player’s representatives have been contacted as of yet.

Now, reports have surfaced that claim the 21-year-old is set to sign a new deal at Corinthians.

Even though the player’s contract expires in September, both parties are very eager to get a contract extension done, with discussions well underway.

In theory, Léo Santos could sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in May, though the board are confident that a deal will get done long before then.

Léo Santos had starred in the centre-back role but underwent knee surgery in April and missed the rest of 2019.

Corinthians had previously received inquiries over his services in January of last year from several European sides, despite a release clause of €50m.

The player is healthy and should be ready to feature in the upcoming Campeonato Paulista.
