Grêmio and Brazil international forward Luan has long been on the mind of Corinthians supporters and director Duílio Monteiro Alves confirmed they will try to bring him into the club.
Luan was named the 2017 Copa Libertadores Player of the Year and South American Player of the Year having led his team to the title after scoring eight goals and 12 appearances.
After dismissing the rumours of bringing in Deyverson and Thiago Neves or letting goalkeeper Cássio go, Duílio heaped the praise on the 26-year-old.
“He is a player who needs no comment. This year, he did not perform very well, but he is exceptional and interests any Brazilian club.
“For Corinthians, it’s no different. So if we have the conditions and the opportunity when the championship is over, we will sit down and try to talk to Grêmio to see if it’s possible.”
Duílio also confirmed that defender Pedro Henrique and midfielder Camacho will return to Corinthians at the request of Tiago Nunes after playing for him on loan at Athletico-PR this season.
