Chivas seeks to change the structure of the club and the intention of Amaury Vergara is to add a new sporting director.
Their main target is Nestor de la Torre, who already has vast experience as a director of Chivas. However, de la Torre has rejected the first offer.
The 56-year-old was the club’s President of Sports from 2002 to 2009 and once again in 2013 and 2014.
“About the directorial position in Chivas … I have to tell you that the first contact with Nestor was negative,” said Chivas-based journalist Antonio Vivanco.
“However, for the moment, the main plan is to convince him otherwise.”
Ricardo Peláez is said to be Chivas’ second option if negotiations with Néstor de la Torre do not come to fruition.
