It’s almost certain that José Juan Macías will end up in Europe in the near-future, but it’s certain that he will remain at Chivas for the rest of the 2020 Clausura campaign.
On Thursday, Radio Cadena COPE in Spain revealed that Real Sociedad has been keeping their eye on the 20-year-old as a potential Willian José replacement.
Willian José has been recently linked to a January move to Tottenham and Sociedad should be willing to meet Macías’ $15m release clause
“If Willian José leaves, the option of José Juan Macías, a young 20-year-old forward who is already a Mexico international and defends the colors of one of the most successful teams in Central America, Chivas, has been explored before,” the program said.
As for his current status, Macías has been virtually ruled out of this weekend’s match against Toluca due to what Chivas has described as ‘physical discomfort’.
