The first year of José Cardozo is about to come to an end and it appears that, in addition to likely being fired, Chivas have already chosen a profile for his successor.

The results of the team led by the Paraguayan have not been satisfactory for the directors of Chivas and they are beginning to think about alternatives.

According to Récord, the rojiblancos want a European coach, a dramatic change considering that Chivas have been led by a Mexican or a South American since 2013.

Dutchman John van ‘t Schip was the last European manager to lead Chivas. He lasted just a single season, the 2012 Apertura, where he won just one match at home and made the Liguilla on goal difference alone.

That Chivas side lost in the quarter-finals to eventual finalist Toluca.
