Though it hasn’t been made official by Chivas, it has been known all week that defender Cristian Calderón would be sanctioned for being captured on social media partying very late after their loss against Cruz Azul at an event in Jalisco.

To make matters worse, Calderón did not complete training on Monday after complaining about stomach issues.

According to TUDN, sporting director Ricardo Peláez has already talked with the player and informed him that he will be heavily fined – an amount believed to be between 40 and 50 per cent of his monthly wage.

However, he will not be suspended, meaning he will be available for selection for Friday’s match away at Xolos.

The 22-year-old has slowly integrated himself into the squad after joining in the winter window from Necaxa, recently making his first league starts against Atlético San Luis and Cruz Azul.
