José Juan Macías is no stranger to scoring goals, netting his 26th-career Liga MX strike during Chivas’ 2-1 Clásico Tapatío victory over rivals Atlas, scoring the winner in the 42nd minute.
The victory gave Chivas their third win in a row, with Macías bagging a goal in each of their three victories.
His goal and the win also extended a streak that goes back all the way to before Macías joined Club León on loan last January.
Chivas have now won an impressive nine matches in a row when Macías has scored, including five Liga MX contests and two matches in both the Copa MX and the CONCACAF Champions League.
The streak dates back to February 2018, when Macías scored in the first leg of their 2-0 win in the Dominican Republic against Cibao. Of course, Chivas would go on to win the continental crown that season, beating Toronto FC in the final.
