One of the great revelations of the 2019 Apertura tournament has been the stellar play of Necaxa left-back Cristian Calderón.
He has been in stellar form under the watch of manager Guillermo Vázquez and has helped his side move up to second place in Liga MX.
His good performances earned the 22-year-old his first call-up to the Mexican National Team earlier this month, where he went the full 90 minutes in their wins against Bermuda and Panama, picking up an assist in the first match.
Though Chivas and Club América are amongst many clubs interested in snapping him up in January, Calderón insists he’s still focused on Necaxa.
“I ignore the things that come out, I’m focused on Necaxa at the moment, I don’t care what they are talking about, finishing the tournament champions is what we all want.”
The former Atlas product has scored a goal and contributed two assists in 10 Liga MX contests this season.
