After scoring a pair of crucial goals in Flamengo’s wild 4-4 draw with Vasco on Wednesday, the Premiere announcers branded Bruno Henrique ‘Mr. Clasico’ for his constant ability to score big goals against their Rio rivals.
While Flamengo are currently are just seven points away from their sixth Brasileirão title (their first since 2009), Vasco had been previously involved in a relegation fight but now have a remote chance at qualifying for the Copa Libertadores.
After the match, Bruno Henrique took the opportunity to tease their rivals.
“Our team is to be congratulated for our performance and our attitude. But I’ll take the opportunity to send a message: We’re fighting for the title, they don’t know what they are fighting for.”
Flamengo will likely make full-scale changes against Grêmio on Sunday so that they will be well-rested at healthy for next Saturday’s Copa Libertadores final against River Plate in Lima, Peru.
