We all know that Benjamín Galindo is an important figure at Chivas, having been their manager on two separate occasions and their third-highest goalscorer in club history.
His ties to the club are still very, very strong, having been assistant to former Chivas team-mate and Chivas manager José Manuel de la Torre and now occupies the assistant role under former Chivas boss Matías Almeyda at San Jose Earthquakes.
Although Galindo wasn’t very successful in his three seasons in charge of Chivas, he did win the 2012 Clausura title while at the helm at Santos Laguna.
During a Q&A session on Instagram Live, the 59-year-old responded to an eye-brow raising question: Who was the best player you ever managed at Chivas?
“The truth is that I had the fortune of directing many very talented players, but if I really must say, it has to be ‘Bofo’ (Adolfo Bautista), for his talent, for his temperament, and especially for his personality.
“I send you a big greeting, Bofo.”
As a player, Galindo had the distinct pleasure of winning Liga MX titles with four different clubs (Chivas, Santos Laguna, Cruz Azul, Pachuca), in addition to the 1997 CONCACAF Champions’ Cup with Cruz Azul.
