Bayern Munich are on the verge of signing Hamburg youngster Jann-Fiete Arp, according a report in the German press on Tuesday.

Bild claimed last month that the Bavarians were heavily scouting the 18-year-old with a view to landing him in the summer.

But a new story on Fussball Transfers today has indicated that Jupp Heynckes’ men have agreed a deal with Der Dino for the young striker.

They cite a source “close to the leadership at Hamburg” who has revealed that the teenager will join the Allianz Arean outfit at the end of the season, but will then be loaned back to the club for next term.

Arp is seen as the crown jewel of the Hamburg youth system, but with his contract set to expire in summer 2019, selling him now was deemed the only real option.

Arp has played 16 times in the Bundesliga this campaign, scoring two goals.
