Flamengo’s 17-year-old attacking sensation Reinier is easily the biggest prospect in Brazil after breaking into the Flamengo first-team and taking full advantage of his limited opportunities.
In just eight Brasileirão appearances, Reinier has racked up three goals and two assists as a number 10, and the world has taken notice.
Now, according to multiple sources, Atlético Madrid have become favourites to capture his signature after a representative flew from Spain to Brazil and made Reiner an offer.
However, Atlético have yet to speak to Flamengo as of yet, and it will take a substantial fee to land him.
“If any club ask us: ‘do you have Vinicius number two?’, it’s him,” said Luis Gustavo Nogueira, the president’s assistant.
“He will not leave for less than what Vinicius and Rodrygo went for (€45m).”
Reinier has a €62m release clause and Flamengo are said to have rejected a €30m offer for the player over the summer from an unnamed Premier League side.
