Antonio Briseño has already served the first game of his four-match suspension for his horror tackle on Giovani dos Santos in the Clásico Nacional, but luckily for him, he will have the opportunity to maintain match fitness.
The rojiblancos, who have won just one of their last nine Liga MX matches (defeating the Atlas in the Classic Tapatío) will face Monarcas on Wednesday in a friendly match in Sacramento, California.
On Saturday, they will challenge Leon at Dignity Health Sports Park in the town of Carson, California, the second of two matches that Briseño will have a chance to play a part in.
Briseño will miss out against Rayados, FC Juárez, and Xolos before he returns to face Toluca on 3 November.
With six games to play, Chivas’ Liguilla chances are very slim as the team sits on 12 points, six points behind Pumas for the eighth and final play-off place.
