Chivas are closing in on bringing back Angel Zaldivar from his unsuccessful time on loan at Monterrey.

The forward joined La Pandilla on loan in January but has struggled to make any kind of impact there.

At his parent club, plans are already turning to the 2019/20 campaign and Zaldivar’s name is one of those on the agenda.

An early termination of his loan spell is something that Monterrey are also pushing for, having been unhappy with his performances.

As a result, Tomás Boy has requested that his club bring him back in order to add to his options going forward.

Diego Alonso has been unconvinced by Zaldivar and given him few real opportunities to impress at Monterrey.

In 13 appearances, he has managed a paltry one goal.
