As soon as “El Jefe” Tomás Boy was appointed Chivas manager, social media exploded and the majority questioned the Chivas leadership.

They began to vent their anger on the official accounts of Vice President Amaury Vergara and Chivas CEO José Luis Higuera.

In response, Vergara, the son of Chivas owner Jorge Vergara, posted this message on his Twitter account, ensuring Chivas will be okay.

“When my father hired Matías (Almeyda), they criticized us very hard; but see what he achieved.

“There are no magic formulas. There are successes and mistakes, but what should never exist is fear. Chivas is going to stay up.”

Chivas are in danger of being relegated for the first time in the club’s history next season.

Chivas will face Monarcas on the road on Saturday in Boy’s first match in charge.
